Going into the burro shop was always exciting as there was always a new project either on the rails on the walls or in the sound system! Nothing was conventional apart from the fact you could buy clothes in Small, Medium or Large! After that anything went! You could find yourself watching a Burro film, listening to a new Burro music compilation or watching their last catwalk show from Paris! I loved this mix as it was more organic, friendly and not pretentious at all. I think that is why Burro was so popular with both editors and customers as they could buy something that was fashionable but that had a huge element of fun! I always remember the floral shirts and floral ties - quite wild for the time with slight references to icons such as Jarvis Cocker or films such as the 70's Dog Day afternoon! These things also had an individuality which I also felt went slightly against the grain of the time but for me that was what made Burro very unique and was why it was very popular with a wide spectrum of people.
